Stand-Up Comedy Workshop with Graduation Show at SMC
This fast-paced workshop is designed for both absolute beginners and comics already working clubs around town. Class goals: Learn joke structure and sharpen your joke-writing skills. Generate jokes, bits, and routines that reliably get big laughs. Discover/refine your comedic persona and POV. Improve performance chops. Along the way we'll discuss: The history and philosophy of stand-up comedy, as well as the ever-evolving opportunities available to comedians both creatively and professionally. The class culminates with: A graduation show at the world-famous Improv on Melrose (or a similar venue).

The workshop is presented at the Bundy Campus of SMC. (That's the small, easy-to-find, and easy-to-park-at Bundy Campus, not the gigantic, difficult-to-park-at, impossible-to-find Main Campus.) The workshop runs for seven weeks and costs $159
